Pamper Your Feet in These 3 Relaxing Ways
|
By Fred Salomon
Our feet are the most-used parts of our body. We use them to support our weight, and they take
the force of every activity doled out to them. Every day, they give us dependable and pain-free
performance. That is, until a painful foot issue occurs. This can include heel spurs, blisters,
dry cracking skin and several other conditions. Feet need to be pampered more than any part of
the body. Many years of pain-free feet can be the result of taking good care of them. Here are
three ways that feet can be pampered this season, even in the extremely hot weather.
A Foot Massage and Pedicure Make Everything Better
The first way to spoil feet is to get a pedicure. This is a perfect way to remove excess dead
skin from the feet and toes as well as to replenish the foot's moisture balance. Rehydration is
one benefit of a pedicure because feet are soaked in water and then moisturized with lotion. If
the salon offers the choice of a warm foot bath with a moisturizerizing additive, that is an
even better way to replenish moisture. As recommended by the American Podiatric Medical
Association, sterilized metal implements should always be used by the salon to avoid the spread
of foot fungus from one customer to another. Pedicures not only enhance the appearance of the
feet, but they provide them with increased circulation through massage. Since a lower leg and
foot massage usually accompany a pedicure, the foot is relieved of tensions and oxygen-rich
blood can be distributed around the feet to relieve muscle stress! Even heel spurs and flat
feet don't disturb feet as much after being spoiled like this!
Footwear Mechanics: The Evils of Sandals, Thongs, and Flip-Flops
Warmer weather is here and thongs are worn more often at this part of the year. Foot conditions
such as flat feet and heel spurs can become
painful for people who use flat footwear or go bare-footed. As reported by podiatrists, not
having any support in the arch can cause this region of the foot to become elongated and
painful. Though both of these conditions of the foot can be cured with special foot
orthotics, thongs simply cannot provide proper arch support...until now. Special thongs for
warm weather have been developed and some of them are quite fashionable. Look for sandals
like these because they contain arch support insoles for rigid arch
support. You don't have to bring a change of shoes because these sandals will give you
hours of comfort. Indulge feet with sandals like these rather than wearing common, flat
flip-flops.
The Evils of Hot Weather, Under-Hydration, and Inactivity
The third way to pamper your feet during summer is to hydrate with extra water intake, stay
active, and keep them elevated for 20 minutes every day. Increased temperatures can cause
bloating in the feet and ankles which can exacerbate conditions such as heel bone spurs and flat feet. These
contributing ailments can cause feet to ache or feel tender by the end of the day. One
suggested excercise that really helps beat the heat as well as boost circulation is going
for a swim. If a physical fitness plan, excellent water consumption, and 20 minutes of
resting the feet above the heart are consistent throughout the summer, feet will hurt less
and swelling will be kept to a minimum.
This summer, try a visit to the nail salon, supportive sandals, and elevating the feet. You'll
immediately moisturize skin, lessen inflammation, and relieve aches. Don't deprive your feet of
the relaxing spoiling they deserve!

foot pain and aching feet at the end of the day.
Though there are many causes for aching feet to occur, many times they can be relieved with the use of
orthotic insoles. Orthotics control flat feet due to overpronation by supporting
your arches, taking away one of the major causes of tired, aching feet. You can find more information
